Stat Attack: All you need to know about West Ham 2-3 Southampton

Jan Bednarek headed Southampton to their first win in seven league games after defeating West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side took the lead inside 10 minutes when Mohamed Elyounoussi fired into the bottom-right corner from outside the area.

The Saints held their advantage going into the interval, which prompted Hammers manager David Moyes into making two changes at the break.

And the Scotsman’s tinkering paid off, after substitute Michail Antonio scored just four minutes into the second half with a header.

But Southampton were given a reprieve after VAR awarded Hasenhuttl’s side a penalty on the hour mark following Craig Dawson’s trip on Armando Broja. James Ward-Prowse coolly slotted home for his fourth goal of the campaign.

However, the Saints were ahead for just four minutes as Said Benrahma got on the end of a Jarrod Bowen pull-back and scored from close range.

But Southampton took the lead for the third time of the game when Jan Bednarek met Ward-Prowse’s free-kick and headed past Lukasz Fabianski.

More to follow.
