December’s Premier League Goal of the Month nominees are in and there are some stunning strikes to choose from.
Despite coronavirus disrupting the fixture list, the top flight’s best players were on hand to show their quality again.
Two of the eight goals come courtesy of leaders Manchester City.
The first is Bernardo Silva’s stunning side-footed volley on the run at Aston Villa, with Kevin De Bruyne’s thunderbolt against Leeds also in contention.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s long-range rocket against Newcastle is nominated and Tottenham’s Lucas Moura is on the list thanks to a similar effort against Norwich.
Mason Mount’s pinpoint volley in Chelsea’s defeat to West Ham is not the only goal scored against the Hammers on the list.
Neal Maupay’s overhead kick secured a point for Brighton in stoppage-time at the London Stadium and is a worthy contender, as is Demarai Gray’s last-gasp winner for Everton against Arsenal.
The final goal is a quite brilliant team move put together by Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.
Starting at the back with Aaron Ramsdale, they picked Southampton apart with one-touch football before Bukayo Saka squared it for Alexandre Lacazette to finish with aplomb.
