Saint of interest right now
Ralph Hasenhuttl has dismissed talk of Southampton attempting to sign Armando Broja permanently this month.
The Chelsea striker, 20, is on loan at St Mary’s until the end of the season.
And Hasenhuttl insists he is not currently concerned with trying to change that arrangement.
The Saints boss said: “To be honest it doesn’t affect me massively because I know he is here until the end of the season.
“We have enough time to talk to them, about our future with him. Let this guy play football, let this guy do his job.
“I think it’s very important for the young players to develop their game in a sort of calmness and not amid rumours.
“This is what we try to do, we try to calm everything down because he should concentrate on his job. This is what he’s here for.”
Broja has netted seven goals in all competitions since joining Southampton last August.
Krul blow for Canaries
Tim Krul is set for a spell on the sidelines — dealing Norwich a major blow in their battle to avoid the drop.
The Dutch keeper, 33, injured his shoulder during the 2-1 win over Everton at Carrow Road last Saturday.
And boss Dean Smith, who takes the Canaries to Premier League relegation rivals Watford tomorrow, is not sure how long he will be without him for.
Smith said: “Krul is out. He hurt his shoulder, the ACL joints, in the last minute of the Everton win.
“I’m not sure on the time with him at the moment. He went to see a consultant, so I’m waiting for the feedback from our medical staff.”
Out of Toon
Manchester United have reportedly rejected Newcastle’s bid to take Jesse Lingard on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer, is struggling for game time under Ralf Rangnick.
But United are reluctant let him leave on a temporary basis.
