Norwich leapfrogged relegation rivals Watford by winning 3-0 at Vicarage Road to move clear of the bottom three.
A Josh Sargent brace and Juraj Kucka’s own goal helped Norwich to consecutive wins after beating Everton last weekend. Defeat, Watford’s 10th in 13 Premier League games under Claudio Ranieri, plunged the Hornets into the relegation zone.
Sargent scored his first Premier League goal since making the switch to Norfolk six minutes into the second half with an audacious flick past Daniel Bachmann.
The American doubled the Canaries’ advantage in the 74th minute with a bullet header before Emmanuel Dennis was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards.
Things then went from bad to worse for Ranieri’s side as Kucka put an Adam Idah cross into his own net in stoppage time.
Meanwhile, Canaries striker Sargent was thrilled after the game. He said: “It’s been a kind of blur. To get your first goal and then your second after was pretty crazy.
“Obviously being in the relegation zone means every game is big for us, but to get a win against the team right in front of us is huge.”
