Phillipe Coutinho got a goal and assist as he inspired Aston Villa to a 4-0 routing over Southampton at Villa Park.
Ollie Watkins opened the scoring for Steven Gerrard’s side, curling into the far corner inside 10 minutes.
The hosts then doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time as Coutinho played in Douglas Luiz to tap in for his first league goal of the season.
Coutinho was involved once more, when he produced a great strike to beat Fraser Forster in the Southampton goal in the 52nd minute.
Former Saints striker Danny Ings then wrapped the game up for Villa, finishing a Matty Cash pull-back just two minutes after Coutinho’s effort.
