Marc Albrighton’s screamer and Kelechi Iheanacho’s late strike handed Leicester a 2-0 win in their Europa Conference League round of 16 first-leg clash with Rennes at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester took the lead on the half-hour mark as Albrighton smashed an emphatic finish high into the net after Harvey Barnes had cut the ball back to the edge of the box.
The Foxes did not extend their advantage and seal the victory until the 93rd minute, when Albrighton cut back into the path of Iheanacho, who steered the ball unerringly into the far corner.
Rennes made Leicester work for their goals, but were disappointing going forward — mustering just one shot on target of their own.
