Harvey Barnes struck the crossbar as Leicester were held to a 0-0 draw by PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final.
The visitors almost took the lead after just two minutes when Kasper Schmeichel denied Mario Gotze from close range.
Yet the Foxes had the best chance of the half as Barnes hit the woodwork following a neat one-two with Kelechi Iheanacho on the stroke of half time.
There was very little for either side to shout about in an uneventful second half as Brendan Rodgers’ side were forced to settle for a draw.
Leicester will now have it all to do as they travel to the Philips Stadion for the second leg next Thursday.
But Foxes manager Rodgers still took plenty of positives from his side’s performance.
He said: “I thought, apart from their early chance, we defended well in the game. We had two good chances.
“With a little bit more finesse we might have opened the scoring but we’re still in a good place going into next week.
“It’s what we expect at this stage of the competition. At times we played good football, just in the final third that final pass needed more subtlety.
“We’ll go there and they’ll probably open up more, and that’ll give us more space. We’re looking forward to it.”
While midfielder Kieran Dewsbury-Hall echoed his manager’s thoughts ahead of their tough looking task next week.
He said: “We’re slightly frustrated there wasn’t many chances created. You have to be more clinical and patient.
“We’ve seen what they’re like for 90 minutes. We’re frustrated but when we’re on top form we know we can beat any team.
“They score loads of goals in their league and we restricted them to hardly anything which is a positive.
“You need to thrive in these situations. We know it’s going to be hostile at times but that’s what you play football for.”
