Stat Attack: All you need to know about West Ham 1-1 Burnley

Maxwel Cornet’s penalty miss denied Burnley the chance to claim a priceless win in their first match since Sean Dyche’s sacking, instead drawing 1-1 at West Ham.

Half an hour in, Burnley midfielder Ashley Westwood was stretchered off following a tackle from Nikola Vlasic — with both sets of players visibly distressed after the incident.

But it was Burnley who made the better start as Wout Weghorst headed past Lukasz Fabianski just three minutes later for his second Premier League goal since joining in January.

The Clarets might have doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time but Cornet put his spot-kick wide.

David Moyes’ side equalised with just 16 minutes remaining when Tomas Soucek bundled home Manuel Lanzini’s inviting cross.

The Hammers were only able to muster a draw despite an onslaught of late pressure to extend their unbeaten home run to eight games across all competitions.
