Southampton’s Premier League winless streak stretched to four games as they were beaten 3-0 on the road at Brentford.
The Bees went in front in the 13th minute with Ivan Toney the provider. He collected Christian Eriksen’s corner and fired it back across goal for Pontus Jansson to turn home from close range.
The hosts made it 2-0 just a minute later as Yoane Wissa pounced on a loose ball after Eriksen was tackled, steering a low finish into the bottom corner.
Kristoffer Ajer became the second Brentford defender to get on the scoresheet late on. He received the ball on the turn and brushed past two Southampton defenders before slotting through Fraser Forster’s legs.
