Watford’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed following a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles took the lead on the half-hour mark after VAR awarded a penalty to the hosts, with Wilfried Zaha sending Ben Foster the wrong way from the spot.
Watford’s task was made harder in the second half as Hassane Kamara was shown a second yellow card after a shove on Michael Olise, who was breaking down the right.
The Hornets were unable to muster a reply in the time that remained, and defeat sealed their return to the Championship next season.
