There are a trio of matches to take in LaLiga on Tuesday, with plenty still to play for in the race for Champions League qualification and survival.
We take a look at all three to pick out our top tips.
Granada vs Athletic Bilbao predictions
A 6-2 win over Mallorca has seriously improved Granada’s chances of staying up and the strugglers are now two points above the relegation zone with three games to play.
The first of those is the visit of Athletic Bilbao, who have plenty to play for themselves with European football still within their grasp.
Only the top three have lost fewer games than Bilbao’s nine but their inability to turn draws into victories may ultimately be their undoing if they do miss out on continental qualification.
That has been a particular issue for them away from home, where nine of their 17 games have finished level.
Granada will be riding high after their victory over Mallorca and may be able to frustrate Bilbao again. The stalemate would move them closer to survival and looks a definite possibility.
Valencia vs Real Betis predictions
Real Betis conceding a last-minute winner to Barcelona on Saturday opened up the gap between them and Atletico Madrid in the final Champions League spot to six points and they are now relying upon a capitulation from Diego Simeone’s men.
Betis have already secured Europa League football due to their Copa del Rey win but going winless in their last four league games has made a top-four spot unlikely.
They now face the Valencia side that they edged on penalties to seal cup glory and the psychological effects of that win may well be present.
The hosts are also without a win in their last seven games in all competitions, so their season is in real danger of petering out.
Los Che struggled to lay a glove on Bilbao in their recent meeting and look unlikely to produce a massively improved performance here, so Betis can get the win to keep their faint Champions League hopes alive.
Barcelona v Celta Vigo predictions
Barcelona’s late win over Betis secured Champions League football for next season and they can carry the positive vibes forward into this clash with Celta Vigo.
Neither team has a huge amount to play for and may use it as an opportunity to showcase some of their younger talent with a view to next season.
Barca in particular have a plethora of young players looking to stake their claim to be involved in Xavi’s plans and they may just put on a show in front of their home support.
An impressive 13 of Barcelona’s league matches this season have produced four or more goals and the same could well occur when Celta come to town.
The visitors were 4-0 winners over Alaves last time out so can clearly pack a punch going forward themselves and they could play their part in an entertaining encounter.
After losing three of their last four home games, Barcelona will be looking to round off the season on a high and may reward their fans with an entertaining victory.
