Burnley were relegated from the Premier League after losing 2-1 to Newcastle at Turf Moor on the final day of the season.
Callum Wilson gave the Magpies the lead from the penalty spot after 20 minutes when Nathan Collins was deemed to have handled the ball in the area.
Wilson then proceeded to double the visitors’ lead on the hour mark when the striker diverted Allan Saint-Maximin’s terrific pass into the back of the net.
Mike Jackson’s side pushed for an equalising goal and forced a goalmouth scramble at the death, but it was not enough as they finished in the bottom three.
