Manchester United have unveiled their new home kit for the 2022-23 season.
The adidas strip features a retro-inspired collar which presents an evolved red geometric design, referencing the symbolic ‘M’ detail which featured on their third kit from last season and in the famous ‘Snowflake’ shirt from the 1990-92 seasons.
A pinstripe design runs down the shirt with the traditional three black adidas stripes adorning the shoulders and white shorts, which is paired with black socks.
The Red Devils’ new shirt sleeve sponsor, DXC Technology, replaces Kohler who partnered with United in 2018, with the TeamViewer logo at the centre.
The shirt is made with 100% recycled materials and features the latest in adidas’ temperature regulation innovation.
Inigo Turner, design director at adidas said: “The polo collar is synonymous with Manchester United. Turned up or folded down, it has played a starring role in many of the club’s biggest moments.
“With such a rich history, we wanted to pay homage to some of the club’s most legendary kits and players, whilst capturing the essence of home brought into the present day with a new perspective on the strong visual identity and patterns that run through the DNA of the club.”
United’s new home kit will be worn for the first time on the pitch against Liverpool in Bangkok on July 12.
The kit will retail at £100 for the authentic match shirt, or £70 for the replica home shirt. Junior kits will cost slightly less at £50. A long-sleeve option is also available.
The new kit is available to purchase from online and in-store via United Direct and adidas as well as selected retailers.
