Nottingham Forest have signed Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves in a reported £42.5million deal.
The East Midlanders have broken their transfer record for the second time this summer to bring in the midfielder, 22.
Gibbs-White, who has been handed the No10 shirt, managed 12 goals and 10 assists on loan at Sheffield United in the Championship last season and is Forest’s 16th signing so far this window.
Steve Cooper has been given a huge kitty after securing promotion to the top flight and is believed to have shelled out £25m up front to complete the deal, with a further £17.5m in add-ons.
The package usurps the £17.5m move to bring in striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin earlier this window.
Forest were beaten by Newcastle on their return to the Premier League after 23 years but earned a vital three points with a 1-0 win at the City Ground thanks to an Awoniyi strike.
Cooper’s side face Everton tomorrow and England Under-21s star Gibbs-White could make his debut.
The playmaker has 48 Premier League appearances to his name with boyhood club Wolves having broken into the first-team picture as a 18-year-old in the 2018-19 season.
