Arsenal are keen on bringing Wolves star Pedro Neto to North London before the transfer window closes on September 1.
The Gunners have had a flawless start to the new campaign, but are still looking to strengthen their squad, report The Athletic.
Neto, 22, has thrived at Molineux, scoring nine and assisting 10 goals in the top flight since joining Wolves in 2019.
His performances have caught the eye of Arsenal, but they are said to be unable to spend an excessive amount.
The potential deal would see Neto replace Nicolas Pepe, who is set to be shipped out on loan having failed to live up to his £72million price tag.
Transfer expert and journalist David Ornstein has revealed that the Gunners have been in talks with Neto’s agent Jorge Mendes for over a month.
However, Wolves are said to be unwilling to sell the Portuguese talent, making the deal a very tricky one to finalise.
Neto can play in a variety of positions, including on the wing or as a false nine — but Arsenal would have to fork out a small fortune to land his services.
