Transfer Talk: Liverpool ready to battle with United for Sangare

Liverpool have reportedly identified Ibrahim Sangare as the answer to their midfield malaise.

However, they will have to battle fierce rivals Manchester United for the signature of the PSV Eindhoven star.

United were strongly linked with Sangare over the summer, while AC Milan, Leicester and West Ham are also keen.

The 24-year-old put paid to any prospect of a move in the recent transfer window when he signed a new five-year deal at the Philips Stadium.

Yet that will not stop interested suitors testing the water with potential bids for the Ivory Coast international, say Calciomercato.

Sangare has established himself as a high-class defensive midfielder in the Netherlands, making 98 appearances for PSV over the past two seasons since arriving from Toulouse.

The Reds were forced to move late to sign Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus on deadline day after injuries built up in their midfield.

But they will be desperate to land a permanent arrival either in January or next summer to improve Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
