Leeds held out for a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa at Elland Road despite being reduced to 10 men after Luis Sinisterra was sent off.
The first half was a fiery, even affair, with Rodrigo looking particularly threatening — but both sides lacked composure in front of goal.
Leeds were a man down soon after the restart as Sinisterra was shown a second yellow card for failing to retreat 10 yards following a Villa free-kick.
However, Villa were unable to capitalise on man advantage and — despite testing Illan Meslier on several occasions — the spoils were ultimately shared.
Leeds striker Patrick Bamford insisted the Whites deserved a point for their performance.
He said: “Circumstances made [the game] a bit more difficult. The boys on the pitch the whole game were outstanding and we deserved a point.
“Villa had a game plan and part of that was slowing down our momentum. That worked to a point and then the tables turned in the second half and we had to do a bit of that ourselves.
“It was nice to be back on the pitch. You just want to play football, so hopefully I can now put some momentum together and start scoring some goals.”
