West Ham have confirmed a place in the Europa Conference League knockout stage after a 2-1 win against Anderlecht thanks to first-half goals from Said Benrahma and Jarred Bowen.
The three points confirm David Moyes’ side are into the next round of the Europa Conference League with two games spare as they have had a perfect start — winning all four games so far in the group stage.
Benrahma curled a lovely free-kick in with only 14 minutes on the clock and they doubled their advantage in the 30th minute when Bowen unleashed a thunderous strike past goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge.
With a couple of minutes left, Sebastiano Esposito was fouled by Ben Johnson in the box and then he converted from the spot but the Irons held out to secure a deserved win.
