Aberdeen vs Rangers predictions: Beale’s man can edge high-scoring encounter

– Rangers are unbeaten in their last 13 league meetings with Aberdeen
– Rangers earned a 4-1 win at Ibrox in their last encounter in October
– Recommended bet: Rangers to win and both teams to score

Rangers managed to get off to a winning start in Michael Beale’s first game as manager against Hibernian and now the Light Blues travel to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday night.

Beale will already be getting a good understanding of the challenge ahead of him at Ibrox after replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the Old Firm outfit.

Despite conceding two goals in the first 16 minutes against Hibs, goals from Fashion Sakala, Ryan Jack and Alfredo Morelos ensured Rangers claimed the three points in his opener.

Gers still find themselves nine points behind Celtic and cannot afford any mistakes at Pittodrie if they are to prevent the Hoops from running away with the title.

Team news

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin will have to continue without Callum Roberts, as he remains stuck on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

After suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Celtic last time out, Goodwin is unlikely to make too many changes ahead of the arrival of Rangers this week.

As for Gers, Beale has taken over a squad that has been riddled with injuries which played a big role in Van Bronckhorst losing his job in Glasgow this winter.

Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, John Souttar, Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence are just some of the names unlikely to make the trip to the east coast on Tuesday night.

The stats

Rangers have an excellent record in this fixture, having not lost to Aberdeen in their last 13 meetings in the league.

The last time these sides met was at the end of October, with Rangers coming back from a goal down to win 4-1 at Ibrox.

Connor Barron was the man to give the Dons the lead that day, but Rangers responded well with efforts from Antonio Colak, John Lundstram, James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos wrapping up a comprehensive victory in the end.

Gers’ issues in defence have been well documented this season, with the Old Firm outfit keeping just one clean sheet in their last seven Premiership games.

Aberdeen’s 1-0 defeat to Celtic last time out was the first game in eight outings that the Dons have failed to score.

Prediction

Considering Rangers’ issues at the back, it is hard to see them keeping Aberdeen out for the 90 minutes at Pittodrie.

This could well be an encounter where both teams find the back of the net, in a game that should have a number of chances.

Their respective league positions are reflected by their places in the goalscoring charts and with only five teams having conceded more than the Dons, the promise of goals is clear.

Having played out that high-scoring game in Glasgow in October, Rangers to win and both teams to score is certainly tempting at 19/10 with LiveScore Bet.
