Jamie Carragher believes Nottingham Forest and Leeds fans should be worried after Everton and Leicester played out a pulsating 2-2 draw last night.
The 19th-placed Toffees still sit one point behind their three Premier League relegation rivals with four games remaining but put in a spirited display at the King Power Stadium.
Jordan Pickford saved a James Maddison penalty in first-half stoppage time before Alex Iwobi’s equaliser earned Sean Dyche’s side a point that ex-Liverpool defender Carragher felt they richly deserved.
He explained: “It feels like a better point for Everton. They were by far the better team.
“I actually think Everton’s performance will worry Leeds and Nottingham Forest. If Everton can continue performing like that, they will get out of trouble.
“I think if you were watching that as a Forest or Leeds player or supporter, you’d be worried.
“The big thing for Everton is they’ve got two more away games out of the next three and they’ve won one away game all season. That’s a huge problem. And the home game is against Man City.
“But I’ve never felt Everton would go down at any stage really. I just look at the form that Leeds are in.”
The Whites, who have shipped 18 goals during their current five-game winless run, are on the verge of axing boss Javi Gracia according to various reports.
Jill to win
Wolfsburg midfielder Jill Roord is convinced she and her team-mates can conquer Barcelona to become queens of Europe next month.
The German champions booked their place in the Women’s Champions League final after overcoming Arsenal 3-2 after extra time at the Emirates last night — netting a winner with less than two minutes remaining.
Dutch ace Roord, 26, bagged against her former club early in the contest and was quick to issue a rallying call at full-time ahead of a mouth-watering showdown with the Spanish giants.
Roord said: “It’s going to be a tough challenge, but also it’s just one game. It’s not like the semi-finals with two games.
“It’ll be one game, 90 minutes hopefully! And anything can happen. We have to be brave, we have nothing to lose and we just need to go for it.”
This year’s final will take at the Phillips Stadium in Eindhoven on June 3, one week prior to the men’s showpiece.
