Mr Motivator
Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes his old club have hired the perfect man for the job in Sam Allardyce.
The wily 68-year-old has just four games to keep the Whites afloat in the Premier League, starting with a challenging trip to champions Manchester City on Saturday.
Yet Robinson, 43, has full faith in his former boss to make a quick impact in West Yorkshire.
He explained: “Allardyce is the best man-manager I have ever worked for — probably the best manager I have ever worked for.
“He gets a lot of disrespect because of the stigma around his style of play, but let’s not forget this man was once thought of as good enough to be an England manager.
“His track record speaks for itself in keeping teams in this league. With this Leeds team, they need organisation, they need setting up right, they need pointing in the right direction.
“If Sam can bring everyone together, his leadership and man management qualities are what is needed at Leeds.
“In all honesty he should have had the job when Javi Gracia got the job.”
Injury woes
Laura Wienroither has become the FOURTH Arsenal player to rupture her ACL this season.
Austrian defender Wienroither, 24 joins team-mates Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema and Leah Williamson on the sidelines having each suffered the same season-ending injury.
A statement by the club read: “We can confirm that Laura Wienroither suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in our match against Wolfsburg at Emirates Stadium on Monday evening.
“Laura was substituted in the 82nd minute of our UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final and has subsequently undergone testing to determine the extent of the injury.
“Laura will undergo surgery in due course and will be sidelined for an extended period.
“Everyone at the club will now be supporting Laura and working hard to support her recovery and return to action.”
