Aston Villa duo strike to secure Under-19 Euro triumph for England

Extra-time goals from Aston Villa duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Ramsey saw England beat Israel 3-1 in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship final.

Ian Foster’s outfit put in a disappointing first half performance in Trnava, allowing the Blue and Whites to take the lead through Oscar Gloch five minutes before the break.

But the Young Lions roared back in the second half, as Manchester City prospect Callum Doyle struck from close range on 52 minutes.

And they were ultimately too strong for Israel when the game went into extra-time, as Chukwuemeka chested home before Ramsey sealed victory with four minutes left on the clock.

England have now won the competition on two occasions, after previously lifting the trophy in 2017.

They will look back on a job well done in Slovakia, having won every single match in the tournament — beating Austria, Serbia, Italy and Israel on two occasions, en route to victory.
