Angel Correa scored a remarkable goal from almost the halfway line in Atletico Madrid’s LaLiga clash at Villarreal on Sunday.
The Argentina international intercepted Daniel Parejo’s sloppy pass just inside his own half before sensationally firing over Geronimo Rulli from just over the halfway line.
Opta deemed the effort to have an expected goal (xG) indicator of just 0.0166 – the lowest in LaLiga this season.
Correa has now scored 12 goals in his last 28 top-flight appearances, which is one more than he had in his previous 98 league games for Diego Simeone’s men.
