Southampton have confirmed their takeover by a company led by Serbian billionaire Dragan Solak.
Sport Republic, a sports and entertainment firm of which Solak is the lead investor, have acquired a controlling stake in the South Coast club.
They have purchased the 80% stake previously held by Chinese businessman Gao Jisheng, who took over the club in 2017.
Katharina Liebherr, who inherited the club from her late father Markus in 2010 when they were in League One, has retained her minority 20% holding.
Solak is a media mogul who is the founder of Serbian cable TV operator United Group.
Saints chief executive Martin Semmens says they have found the “perfect solution” for the club after securing their new owners.
Semmens added: “Over the last two years, together with the shareholders of our club, we have searched for the right partner to take the club forward.
“We have found partners with ambition for the future, but with a clear understanding of what Southampton stands for and the direction we must go in now.”
