Gareth Bale has joined MLS side Los Angeles FC on a year-long deal as he bids for fitness ahead of the World Cup.
The winger also holds the option to extend his stay in California for a further year.
The Welshman has been a free agent since his contract expired at Real Madrid earlier in the summer.
Bale, 32, netted 106 goals in 256 appearances for Los Blancos — including winning strikes in two Champions League finals.
He won three LaLiga titles and five Champions Leagues during his nine-year stint in the Spanish capital.
Bale gradually fell out of favour in Madrid and made just seven appearances across all competitions last season.
The Welshman helped his nation qualify for their first World Cup in 64 years with the Dragons drawn in Group B alongside England, USA and Iran.
It was reported that Bale had multiple options this summer — including a romantic move to boyhood club Cardiff — yet has opted to make the switch to California.
He will join former Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini in signing for Steven Cherundolo’s side.
The Black and Gold currently sit top of the Western Conference table but their bid for the title will be strengthened by the acquisition of Bale.
