Olivier Giroud has wished his old Chelsea team-mates well as they prepare to face Liverpool in the FA Cup final.
The World Cup winner, 35, is chasing Serie A glory with AC Milan after leaving Stamford Bridge for an undisclosed fee last summer.
But he has clearly not forgotten about the successful spell he enjoyed with the Blues, which saw him win the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League.
In a post on Chelsea’s Instagram account, the Frenchman said: “Hi guys, it’s Oli from Milano. I hope you are all doing well and I wish you the very best for another final to win.
“Let’s go and grab another trophy, boys. Come on Chelsea!”
Signing off with a cheeky wink, Giroud will clearly be an interested spectator when Thomas Tuchel’s side lock horns with Liverpool at Wembley.
They lost a thrilling penalty shootout to the Reds at the national stadium in February when Jurgen Klopp’s men lifted the Carabao Cup.
Despite failing to nail down a regular place during his time at Chelsea, Giroud was a firm fan favourite and had a knack of scoring vital goals for the club.
He hit the net 39 times in 119 appearances and scored the opener as the Blues beat his former side Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final in May 2019.
That was just one of 11 goals he bagged in Europe in 2018-19, which saw him finish ahead of Luka Jovic as the tournament’s top goalscorer.
And Giroud will not be the only former Chelsea ace getting his hands on the Scudetto if Milan manage to finish ahead of arch-rivals Inter Milan this season.
After a successful loan spell at the San Siro last term, Fikayo Tomori completed a £24million switch to the Italian giants in June 2021.
The classy centre-back has been a mainstay of Stefano Pioli’s side and has endeared himself to the Milan faithful by learning Italian.
