Aaron Jarvis’ hat-trick carried Torquay to a 3-2 win over York to extend their winning run in the Vanarama National League to four.
Jarvis’ headed effort opened the scoring in the 14th minute after he got on the end of Kieron Evans’ ball. The striker doubled his tally seven minutes later after converting Lewis Collins’ cross at the far post.
It was not long before York responded when Lenell John-Lewis grabbed one back for the visitors on 28 minutes from close range after Adam Crookes found the striker.
Jarvis completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute after converting a Torquay penalty before Crookes made it 3-2 in stoppage time.
Jarvis now boasts 15 goals in the National League this season as Torquay now sit two points behind Aldershot in 21st as the Gulls make giant strides in their bid for survival.
