The best ever?
Jamie Carragher believes Erling Haaland has everything he needs to become the greatest player the Premier League has ever seen.
Haaland, 22, has already netted nine times in the top flight since his summer switch to Manchester City, including back-to-back hat-tricks.
And Liverpool legend Carragher is backing the goal machine to get better and better.
The Sky Sports pundit said: “I’m doing City’s game on Saturday at Aston Villa and I’m excited to watch him in the flesh, commentate on him for the first time and really get a good look at him off the ball.
“I think we’ve got something really special that when he’s finished his time at Manchester City or the Premier League, we’ll be talking about him alongside Thierry Henry.
“This lad could end up being the best player we see in the Premier League.
“He’s made a brilliant start, so I’m really excited to see him at the weekend.”
We Vill improve
Steven Gerrard is confident deadline day signings Jan Bednarek and Leander Dendoncker can help Aston Villa get back on track.
Villa are stuck in the bottom three having lost four of their opening five Premier League games.
But Gerrard is looking at the positives ahead of his side’s home clash with champions Manchester City on Sunday,
He said: “Both players bring vital Premier League experience and international experience. They bring a profile and a stature into the team that I think we need.
“I’m hoping they bring a real positive energy, which is needed at the moment, and hopefully they’ll give the current group some help that is much needed, especially given our recent results.”
