Hungry Jesus
Gabriel Jesus is desperate to make up for lost time after inspiring Arsenal to a 4-1 win over Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Brazilian started in the league for the first time since picking up an injury at the World Cup last year and scored a brace as the Gunners maintained their advantage at the summit.
Despite his contributions, the former Manchester City striker is yet to complete a full match since returning and Jesus is pushing Mikel Arteta for more.
He said: “Obviously, every player wants to play the full 90 minutes.
“I think I’m ready to play more minutes. When the referee said to me I was going off, I was a little bit disappointed because I want to play, but of course I respect the manager and the other players as well.
“It was so good playing again, starting again and feeling the atmosphere of the crowd. I want to score and I practice penalties.
“Obviously, I want to score, I want to help the team with the goals. I missed a big part of the season and now I just want to play and help the team.”
Determined Dalot
Diogo Dalot is hopeful that Manchester United can will all of their remaining games in the Premier League after losing 2-0 at Newcastle on Sunday.
The Red Devils are yet to score a goal or win a match since beating the Magpies in the Carabao Cup final recently and were outclassed by Eddie Howe’s side at St James’ Park.
The defender said: “We have to focus on ourselves. We know it’s all about us.
“If we control games, if we play like we have the ability to play, I think we can win every game. This is our aim.
“I think this is the consistency that we have to show on the pitch every single game and on Wednesday, we have to show a reaction.”
United face Brentford on Wednesday and more dropped points could throw their Champions League aspirations into serious doubt ahead of the final stretch of the season.
