Reds still aim to Kop Carvalho

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool would be ‘crazy’ to give up on trying to land Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho.

The Reds attempted to sign the attacking midfielder, 19, on deadline day but failed to get the deal over the line before the January transfer window slammed shut.

And Klopp remains hopeful the Merseysiders will manage to secure his signature in the summer.

He said: “We are still interested — it would be crazy if we were not.

“It was late before the window closed so it didn’t work out so we will see what happens.”

Door still open for Donny

Ralf Rangnick insists Donny van de Beek can still carve out a future for himself at Manchester United.

The Dutchman joined Everton on loan on transfer deadline day as new boss Frank Lampard revamped the squad he inherited from predecessor Rafa Benitez.

And Rangnick has challenged Van de Beek, 24, to showcase his talent at Goodison Park between now and the end of the season.

He said: “I see him [Van de Beek] in the centre of midfield and we have quite a few other good players in those positions, therefore he didn’t get much game time.

“But that doesn’t mean he’s not good enough for the Premier League or Manchester United.

“I’m pretty sure he will get his game time at Everton and show what kind of quality he can be.”

Van de Beek cannot feature in Everton’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Brentford tomorrow having already played in the competition for United this season.

But he is in line to make his league debut for the Toffees when they head to Newcastle next Tuesday.
