Premier League dreams
Napoli hotshot Victor Osimhen has put a host of Premier League clubs on red alert by admitting he dreams of testing himself in England’s top flight.
Manchester and Chelsea are among the clubs said to be monitoring the striker, 24, ahead of a potential summer swoop.
And Osimhen, who has netted 19 goals in 21 Serie A appearances this season, set tongues wagging when asked about his future.
The Nigerian said: “A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world, which is the Italian Serie A.
“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day.
“But like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”
Never again
Chris Sutton claims Bruno Fernandes should NEVER captain Manchester United again following Sunday’s 7-0 humiliation at Liverpool.
The Portuguese, who deputises in the absence of club skipper Harry Maguire, was criticised for his behaviour and attitude during the game.
And former Blackburn and Celtic striker Sutton, 49, believes he should be nowhere near the armband.
Speaking on BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, he said: “There are people far better qualified to be captain.
“Fernandes is not their best leader. There are more suitable candidates than him, Casemiro being one.
“I think he should never put on the armband again for Manchester United.”
Ful of disappointment
Fulham boss Marco Silva could not hide his disappointment after Fulham slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Brentford last night.
The result left the Cottagers seventh in the Premier League on 39 points but Brighton are just one behind them with three games in hand, while the Bees are also on 38 points with two matches in hand.
Silva, 45, said: “Disappointing result of course, we wanted to fight for the three points.
“We know it was a derby, we knew the type of game they were going to play and they are strong at it — a lot of challenges, a lot of duels, strong running in behind — and we started sloppy.
“It was too sloppy. We didn’t start aggressively enough, not brave enough and not with the quality we should have done.
“I am going to analyse it with the players and show them why things happen. We knew before how we should have started and we didn’t start in that way.”
Buzzing Bees
Mathias Jensen hailed a “massive win” for Brentford after they boosted their quest for European football with a win over Fulham.
Ethan Pinnock’s deflected shot, Ivan Toney’s penalty and Jensen’s late strike kept the Bees hot on the heels of the top seven and firmly in the hunt for a Europa League place.
Reflecting on last night’s 3-2 victory, the Danish midfielder said: “It was a massive win.
“I was a little bit disappointed we conceded two goals. I think we could have done a lot better in those situations but the most important thing was the win.
“It was tough. We know Fulham are good on the ball but we also know they’re not the best off it, so we knew we would have periods running and defending.
“Even though they probably had the ball a bit more, I don’t think we conceded too many chances and we created quite a few, so that was good.”
