Keep the faith
Trevoh Chalobah has urged the Chelsea faithful to stick with the players as they get used to Graham Potter’s methods.
The Blues enjoyed a promising start under Potter but three defeats in four games in all competitions have left the former Brighton boss feeling the heat.
Yet Chalobah, who has been a regular fixture since the 47-year-old tactician succeeded Thomas Tuchel, believes it is only a matter of time before the team’s fortunes improve.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s clash with high-flying Newcastle, the centre-back, 23, said: “It’s about learning the way to play and it’s going to take time, it’s not going to happen overnight. We’re going to get there.
“It’s going to take time, day by day. We’ve got to make progress. It’s a massive game on Saturday to make things right.”
All change
Aston Villa have unveiled the club’s new crest — as voted for by the fans.
With more than 21,500 supporters voting, 77% selected the winning design.
A club statement said: “Following an extensive period of fan consultation, creative exploration and crafting, two crest designs were shortlisted.
“On November 4, season ticket holders and members were presented with both options and asked to vote for the one they would prefer to be the new club crest.
“Fans were asked to choose between a design inspired by the founding story of our historic club, in the form of a traditional gas lamp, or a more traditional, round crest which pays homage to our 1982 European Cup triumph.
“As part of the voting process, fans were also asked whether they would simply prefer to keep the current crest.”
The new design will be rolled out in time for the start of the 2023-24 season.
