Bet 1: Back Newcastle to win
Newcastle have been superb this season and are currently on a run of eight wins from their last nine Premier League outings.
That sequence includes victories over Chelsea and away at Tottenham, as well as a point at Old Trafford against Manchester United, so Eddie Howe’s men will be confident of seeing off Leeds at St James’ Park.
However, the Whites should make a game of it.
Jesse Marsch’s team never looks to sit back and contain opponents, preferring instead to go toe-to-toe against even the very best sides.
That approach usually ends in defeat, but it has seen Leeds score twice at Liverpool and net three goals at Tottenham across their last two away fixtures.
Bet 2: Back both teams to score – yes
Leeds may favour an all-action, high-energy approach but Howe’s men are not shy in front of goal either, netting three or more goals in five of their last nine outings so backing both to score seems wise.
Six of Newcastle’s last nine matches have seen over 2.5 goals scored, four have contained over 3.5 goals and three have had over 4.5.
High-octane opponents Leeds have got on the scoresheet in each of their last five league games, hitting two against both Fulham and Liverpool, four against Bournemouth, three versus Tottenham and then one against champions Manchester City on Wednesday.
Bet 3: Back Miguel Almiron to score at anytime
Paraguay international Miguel Almiron is enjoying the season of his life at Newcastle, scoring nine goals in 16 appearances at a rate of a goal every 150 minutes.
That rate has accelerated as the season has gone on, with the Magpies attacker scoring eight goals in his last nine league outings and only failing to score against Manchester United and Chelsea during that run.
A Leeds side that have conceded 17 goals in seven Premier League away games this season and are yet to keep a single clean sheet on the road should have the in-form Almiron licking his lips.

Bet 1: Back Fulham to win
Fulham have taken 11 points from their last seven Premier League outings, putting three goals past each of Aston Villa, Leeds and Crystal Palace in picking up three victories in that run.
Arguably more impressive, however, was the Cottagers’ performances in defeat to the Manchester giants in the final two matches before the Premier League paused for the World Cup. Fulham were holding both teams to 1-1 draws as the clock ticked past 90 minutes and only succumbed to a soft added-time penalty against City and a 93rd-minute strike against United.
Their performances in both games — and in narrow 2-1 defeats to fellow big-six clubs Tottenham and Arsenal — show that Marco Silva’s men are not out of their depth back in the top flight.
Bet 2: Back over 2 goals for both teams combined
Fulham have scored two or more goals in eight of their 16 league games this term and that stat becomes an even more impressive eight in 11 against opponents from outside the top five.
Southampton have conceded three or more goals in losing each of their last three matches and were booed off in Nathan Jones’ first Premier League home contest as Saints manager — a 3-1 home defeat to Brighton on Boxing Day so the Cottagers may well be able to rack up plenty of chances, and goals, again.
Bet 3: Back Aleksandar Mitrovic to score at anytime
Aleksandar Mitrovic was enjoying a stellar Premier League campaign prior to the World Cup, then he scored in two of Serbia’s three games in Qatar and netted again on his return to domestic action for Fulham on Boxing Day.
The Cottagers striker is on course to have his best-ever top-flight campaign after scoring 15 goals in 17 appearances for club and country already in 2022-23, while he has netted against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham — as well as a hat-trick against Sweden — so he is not just picking off weak opponents.
He can be backed to continue that fine form against a Saints side that have conceded 30 goals in 16 Premier League matches this term.
