Premier League value acca predictions: Foxes and Spurs set for first-half spree

Recommended treble:
– Back Both teams to score in the first half of Leicester vs Tottenham
– Back Crystal Palace and Brighton to draw 1-1
– Back Wolves to win and Under 2.5 goals

The value was with the underdogs as three of the Premier League’s top four dropped points on a weekend of surprise results last time around.

There is plenty to consider when weighing up the latest round of top-flight matches and we have come up with a Premier League treble that would return £1,094 from a £10 stake, if successful.

Bet 1: Both teams to score in the first half of Leicester vs Tottenham @ 14/5

Leicester’s January signings, particularly the addition of Brazilian dribbler Tete, have breathed new life into the club and given Brendan Rodgers’ team a new attacking dimension.

Rodgers let the hand brake off by dropping a defensive midfielder and going on an all-out attack at Aston Villa last weekend.

Emboldened by City’s 4-2 win, he will surely put just as much emphasis on attacking when Spurs travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Rodgers’ reshuffle facilitated a four-goal Foxes burst – the team’s third quadruple strike in their last 14 Premier League games – but it also enabled Villa to rattle in 19 shots.

Spurs are not the sort of team to pass up shooting opportunities whenever they come and, having squeezed Manchester City into the first-half error that enabled Harry Kane to win the game last Sunday, can capitalise in what could be a spectacular first half.

Both teams have scored before the 45-minute mark in both of Leicester’s last two league games and the prospects look good for three in a row this weekend.

Bet 2: Back Crystal Palace and Brighton to draw 1-1 @ 5/1

This Saturday’s M23 derby pits a wobbling Crystal Palace team up against their in-form rivals from the South Coast, Brighton.

The Eagles have drawn two and lost three of their last five league games and will be desperate not to let the Seagulls swoop in to take all three points on offer here.

Brighton are one of only six Premier League clubs yet to draw 1-1 away from home this season, but if it is going to happen anywhere, it will be at Selhurst Park.

Four of the last six top-flight meetings between these clubs have finished with one goal apiece, including each of the last three played on this patch of South London.

And it is not as if the two derbies since 2019 that did not succumb to the result pattern were vastly different from the norm, as Christian Benteke’s stoppage-time winner earned Palace a 2-1 win at the Amex Stadium two seasons ago and Brighton missed a hateful of chances in a 1-0 home loss the year before.

Bet 3: Back Wolves to win and Under 2.5 goals at 19/5

Wolves earned their third home clean sheet under Julen Lopetegui last weekend as the Spaniard goes about making the team a lot more defensively secure.

The Molineux men now appear ready to translate that toughness into an away one as they visit St Mary’s – where Southampton have not scored in their last 200 minutes of Premier League football.

Saints boss Nathan Jones has tried everything to make the team more potent and decisive in the attacking third, but they still look far too reliant on a bit of set-piece magic from James Ward-Prowse.

Che Adams, who started up front in Southampton’s 3-0 loss at Brentford last Saturday, has scored just two goals in his last 18 top-flight appearances.

Lopetegui’s side have conceded only six goals since the Spaniard took charge, the same number as Arsenal and Manchester United, and can shut the Saints out this weekend too.

Southampton, on the other hand, have not kept a home clean sheet in the league all season, although they rarely concede more than two goals.
