Stat Attack: All you need to know about Brentford 0-2 Newcastle

Newcastle defeated fellow Premier League strugglers Brentford 2-0 at the Brentford Community Stadium, as Chrisian Eriksen made a stunning return to football.

Brentford were reduced to 10-men after 11 minutes when Josh Dasvila recieved a straight red card after a VAR check on his challenge on Matt Targett.

The Magpies took the lead just after the half-hour mark as Joelinton headed powerfully past David Raya in the Brentford goal.

Eddie Howe’s side then doubled their advantage 10 minutes later via Joe Willock, who finished off a swift counter-attack from the visitors.

It was a quiet second half in West London, which was rightfully overshadowed by the sensational return of Eriksen, who made his first appearance for the Bees.
