First-half goals from Leandro Trossard and Neal Maupay helped Brighton pick up their first win in three months as they defeated Brentford 2-0 at the AMEX Stadium.
The Seagulls took the lead just after the half hour mark when Trossard lofted the ball over Alvaro Fernandez into the Brentford goal.
Brighton top scorer Maupay then doubled Graham Potter’s side’s advantage on the stroke of the interval with a sensational finish from the edge of the box against his former side.
Brentford dominated the proceedings in the second-half and went close when Robert Sanchez made two terrific saves in quick succession to deny Shandon Baptiste’s deflected shot and Ethan Pinnock’s headed effort.
Brighton defender Marc Cucurella was then forced to clear a Pinnock header off the line as the Seagulls held on to pick up their first win in 12 league games.
