James Ward-Prowse netted a stunning brace as Southampton came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Brighton at the Amex Stadium.
Danny Welbeck gave the Seagulls the lead after just two minutes as he turned in Marc Cucurella’s inviting cross.
Graham Potter’s side then doubled their advantage on the stroke of half time when Mohammed Salisu put Leandro Trossard’s pass into his own net.
But in the fifth minute of stoppage-time in the first half, the Saints pulled a goal back when Ward-Prowse curled a delightful free-kick past Robert Sanchez.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side pressed for an equaliser in the second half and were rewarded when Ward-Prowse scored his second of the day with a great strike from distance to earn a draw.
