A rare Conor Coady goal handed Wolves a 1-0 win over 10-man Everton at Goodison Park, leaving the Toffees above the relegation zone on goal difference alone.
The deadlock was not broken until early in the second half, with Coady emphatically heading Ruben Neves’ right-wing cross in after staying up from a set-piece situation.
Everton’s hopes of a comeback were dented in the 78th minute as Jonjoe Kenny was shown a second yellow card and sent off for a mistimed challenge on Raul Jimenez.
The victory sees Wolves keep pace with the top six in their pursuit of a European place, rising above Tottenham and into seventh, just two points behind fifth-placed West Ham.
