Stat Attack: All you need to know about Leeds 1-1 Southampton

James Ward-Prowse’s stunning free-kick cancelled out Jack Harrison’s opener to earn Southampton a 1-1 draw against Leeds at Elland Road.

The hosts opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark. Fraser Froster failed to punch Raphinha’s cross clear of the danger zone and ghe ball fell to Harrison, who poked home.

However, Ward-Prowse levelled the scores shortly after the break with a trademark free-kick into the top-left corner that Illan Meslier could not keep out despite getting a touch.

Neither side could come up with a winner in a keenly-contested match and the two were forced to share the spoils.

Harrison has scored six league goals in 2022, twice as many as any other Leeds player. It’s also Harrison’s highest-scoring calendar year in the competition.
