Stuart Dallas marked his 250th Leeds appearance with a goal as the Whites beat Burnley 3-1 to make the perfect start to 2022.
Jack Harrison put Leeds in front six minutes before half time, tucking home the rebound after Wayne Hennessey had saved his initial attempt.
Nine minutes after the restart, half-time substitute Maxwel Cornet equalised with a 25-yard free-kick for Burnley.
In doing so, he became the first Clarets player to score directly from a free-kick since Steven Defour against Manchester United on Boxing Day 2017.
However, Leeds effectively won it 13 minutes from time when Dallas side-footed beyond Hennessey from the edge of the box to give Marcelo Bielsa’s side a precious three points.
Daniel James completed the win in stoppage time, heading home Joe Gelhardt’s delivery.
