Miguel Almiron’s fantastic goal earned Newcastle a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park that lifts the Magpies into 11th in the Premier League.
The Paraguayan broke the deadlock with a superb strike, cutting in from the right and curling into the top corner from a tight angle after being released by Bruno Guimaraes.
Newcastle dominated the first half but Palace showed more spirit after the break and Wilfried Zaha was unable to make the most of a couple of good chances.
The Eagles slipped to their third straight defeat in all competitions, having been knocked out of the FA Cup semi-finals against Chelsea in their last fixture.
