Stat Attack: All you need to know about Newcastle 3-1 Everton

Kieran Trippier opened his Newcastle account as the Magpies beat Everton 3-1 in Frank Lampard’s first Premier League match in charge of the Toffees.

Everton opened the scoring in the 36th minute as a free-kick from the left ricocheted around in the box and was diverted in off Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles.

The centre-back helped make amends just two minutes later, though, as his towering header from a corner crashed off the bar and in via Mason Holgate.

The Magpies then took the lead in the second half as Allan Saint-Maximin burst to the left byline before hitting a deflected, looping cross that fell at the feet of Ryan Fraser, who tucked home from close range.

Trippier then sealed the win for the Magpies with his first goal for his new club, curling a superb free-kick into the bottom-right corner past Jordan Pickford.
