Stat Attack: All you need to know about Newcastle 3-3 Brentford

Allan Saint-Maximin’s second-half equaliser earned Newcastle a point against Brentford in an entertaining 3-3 draw at St James’ Park.

The Magpies took the lead on the 10th minute mark, when captain Jamaal Lascelles headed past Alvaro Fernandez.

The hosts lead lasted just over a minute though, as calamitous defending allowed Ivan Toney to slot the ball into the net against his former side.

The Bees took the advantage just after 30 minutes, when Rico Henry ghosted in behind the Magpies defence to nod home Sergi Canos’ excellent cross.

The hosts drew level less than 10 minutes later, through a thunderous Joelinton strike from cross range after pinball in the penalty box.

Thomas Frank’s side regained the lead on the hour mark. Frank Onyenka’s shot took a dramatic deflection off Lascelles and into the net.

But less than 15 minutes from time, Saint-Maximin scored a superb equaliser after he was picked out from a terrific Ryan Fraser cross.
