Stat Attack: All you need to know about Watford 0-3 Norwich

Norwich leapfrogged relegation rivals Watford by winning 3-0 at Vicarage Road to move clear of the bottom three.

A Josh Sargent brace and Juraj Kucka’s own goal helped Norwich to consecutive wins after beating Everton last weekend. Defeat, Watford’s 10th in 13 Premier League games under Claudio Ranieri, plunged the Hornets into the relegation zone.

Sargent scored his first Premier League goal since making the switch to Norfolk six minutes into the second half with an audacious flick past Daniel Bachmann.

The American doubled the Canaries’ advantage in the 74th minute with a bullet header before Emmanuel Dennis was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards.

Things then went from bad to worse for Ranieri’s side as Kucka put an Adam Idah cross into his own net in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Canaries striker Sargent was thrilled after the game. He said: “It’s been a kind of blur. To get your first goal and then your second after was pretty crazy.

“Obviously being in the relegation zone means every game is big for us, but to get a win against the team right in front of us is huge.”

Did you know?

The Hornets are winless in their last nine games in all competitions, their longest run without a victory since December 2013.

Watford have now gone 30 Premier League games without a clean sheet.

The Canaries’ win means they have ended the day above the Premier League’s bottom three (excluding the very first day of this season) for the first time since October 2019.

Smith’s side enjoyed their biggest margin of victory in a Premier League match since defeating West Brom 4-0 in May 2013.

Since the start of 2016-17, only Arsenal (19) have picked up more Premier League red cards than Watford (18).
