Stat Attack: All you need to know about Wolves 2-1 Aston Villa

Wolves beat Midlands rivals Aston Villa 2-1 at Molineux to go seventh in the Premier League table, just one point behind Manchester United. 

The hosts took the lead just seven minutes in when the ball broke kindly in the box for Jonny Otto, who struck past Emiliano Martinez. 

It was an own goal that doubled Wolves’ advantage as Ashley Young inadvertently headed Marcal’s cross into his own net in the 36th minute. 

Ollie Watkins halved the deficit with four minutes of normal time remaining, side-footing a penalty in off the base of the post. But it was too little, too late for the visitors.
