Goals from Che Adams and Oriol Romeu handed Southampton a 2-0 victory over bottom-of-the-league Norwich at St. Mary’s.
Adams opened the scoring for the hosts in unorthodox style. A low cross from the right ricocheted off Angus Gunn and Max Aarons and Southampton striker scooped home from close range.
Southampton continued to dominate but it was not until the 88th minute that the three points were secured as Romeu struck a rocket on the bounce after a James Ward-Prowse corner was cleared to the edge of the box.
The victory sees the Saints move into ninth, while Norwich miss the chance to move off the foot of the Premier League and remain five points from safety.
