Sunday’s World Cup Bet Builder tips: Mbappe can lead Poles a merry dance

– The second two round of 16 games take place on Sunday
Three Lions and Lions of Teranga to bear their teeth in Qatar
Mbappe will be a handful for Poland

Two more quarter-finalists at Qatar 2022 will be decided on Sunday when England tackle Senegal and France face Poland in the World Cup round of 16.

England face Senegal fight

Bet 1: Back over 2 goals in 90 minutes for both teams combined

England have not been short of goals in Qatar, hitting nine in total across their three group games — all of which were against similarly-ranked teams to Senegal.

The 3-0 win over Wales could easily have been five or six in their favour as Phil Foden, John Stones and Marcus Rashford all missed good chances to embellish the scoreline.

But, even though the Three Lions have kept two clean sheets, they have not looked completely watertight at the back either.

The way Iran exposed spaces in England’s box and the dominance of the USA’s midfield at times should encourage Senegal.

After feeling their way cautiously into the World Cup against the Netherlands, the Lions of Teranga found their attacking form against Qatar and Ecuador, scoring five goals across the two games combined.

Three or more goals have been scored in two of each team’s three games leading up to this clash and there is no reason to suspect that this game will be any different.

Bet 2: Back Kyle Walker to receive a card in 90 minutes

Whoever fills the right-back position for England is in for a tough time from Senegal’s Ismaila Sarr, who has been fouled 13 times and won a penalty in the tournament.

The Watford winger is probably set to go up against Walker, who matches up better to him than Kieran Trippier, despite the Newcastle defender having a better level of match fitness right now.

Walker has not been a regular card magnet when on Three Lions duty, but did receive a caution in England’s 4-0 home defeat to Hungary in the summer.

Bet 3: Back Phil Foden to have 1+ shots on target in 90 minutes

The wealth of options available to Southgate in the wide attacking positions make picking an England player to score a difficult task, but Foden did his selection claims a world of good with his display against Wales.

The Manchester City star has been in superb form for his club this season, scoring seven and assisting three goals in 14 appearances.

And he recorded a team-high five shots during his 90 minutes on the pitch against Wales, scoring with his only shot on target.

The confidence he will have gained from that display, probably his best in an England shirt, should see him crack off at least a couple of shots on Sunday.

Recommended Bet Builder: Back over 2 goals in 90 minutes for both teams combined, Kyle Walker to receive a card in 90 minutes and Phil Foden to have 1+ shots on target in 90 minutes at 8.5/1 with LiveScore Bet

Mbappe magic can take French to the quarters

Bet 1: Back Kylian Mbappe to score anytime in 90 minutes

Mbappe is making a case for himself to be the next big superstar of world football and he seems to raise his levels on the biggest stages.

The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals in 19 Ligue 1 and Champions League appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season.

After scoring three goals in his first three appearances in Qatar — plus missing other chances — he has the highest xG of any player in the tournament and becomes the obvious candidate to grab a goal in this round-of-16 clash

Bet 2: Back Kylian Mbappe to have 3+ shots on target in 90 minutes

Mbappe has registered 16 shots in total across his two and a bit games, managing to hit the target with seven of them.

After a few wayward efforts against Australia, he seems to have found his range now after peppering Denmark’s goal with four shots on target on his last start.

Bet 3: Back Krystian Bielik to receive a card in 90 minutes

The on-loan Birmingham midfielder has been cautioned five times in 13 Championship appearances this term and has five yellow cards on his record from his 802 minutes in a Poland national team shirt.

It is surprising that his name has not yet found its way into a referee’s notebook at this World Cup as Bielik has committed five fouls, all of which have gone unpunished by nothing more than a free-kick.

The former Arsenal man is among the favourites to receive a card against the Les Bleus and worthy of including here.

Recommended Bet Builder: Back Argentina to keep a clean sheet in 90 minutes, a goal outside the penalty area and Krystian Bielik to receive a card in 90 minutes at 6.25/1 with LiveScore Bet
