Lescott’s Manchester derby preview

LiveScore columnist Lescott played in his fair share of Manchester derbies during his Manchester City career — and now he has picked his ultimate combined XI.

But who has the ex-England defender selected? Has he gone for a City-heavy line-up or do some Manchester United players sneak into the side?

Check out his selection, as well as predictions for all 10 Premier League games taking place this weekend.

Premier League preview

That clash between City and United dominates a big weekend of action at both ends of the table in the Premier League.

Liverpool welcome West Ham to Anfield looking to pile the pressure on City ahead of Sunday’s derby, while Chelsea and Arsenal travel to relegation-threatened Burnley and Watford respectively.

The other big games at the bottom see Everton visit Tottenham and Norwich host free-falling Brentford.

Arsenal gunning for top four

With United and West Ham facing tough trips to City and Liverpool, Arsenal may end the weekend back in the Premier League top four.

The Gunners have not qualified for the Champions League since the 2015-16 campaign, but with games in hand they are in the driving seat to do just that under Mikel Arteta.

Speaking exclusively to LiveScore at the London Football Awards, Alan Smith and George Graham gave their thoughts on the North London club’s bid to secure Champions League qualification.

European weekender

The big games do not stop in the fascinating Serie A title race as joint-leaders Napoli and AC Milan meet at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night.

Their meeting opens the door for Inter Milan, two points behind them, to take advantage as they welcome rock-bottom Salernitana to the San Siro tonight.

Sevilla continue to chase down Real Madrid in Spain and kick off the LaLiga weekend with a trip to Alaves tonight.

They are six points behind leaders Real, who play Real Sociedad on Saturday evening, while third-placed Real Betis host fifth-placed Atletico Madrid in a big clash in the race for a Champions League spot.

Runaway leaders Bayern Munich play Bayer Leverkusen as they march on towards another Bundesliga title in Germany.
