Today on LiveScore: Weekend reaction as Reds lift Carabao Cup

Liverpool’s dramatic shootout success over Chelsea brought the curtain down on another manic football weekend.

Stick with LiveScore as we round up all the fallout from the Carabao Cup final and Premier League fixtures.

Busy weekend

Spanish stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s wild spot-kick proved the difference at Wembley last night after an engrossing contest went all the way.

The stalemate did not lack drama with disallowed goals, shocking misses and stunning saves making for a pulsating watch.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds emerged victorious after Blues No2 Kepa — brought on especially for the shootout — blazed his penalty over the bar following 21 converted kicks.

In the Premier League, Manchester City required a late Phil Foden strike to avoid dropping points at struggling Everton.

The Citizens also appeared to catch a break when Rodri was deemed not to have handled the ball in his own penalty area late on, prompting an angry response from Toffees boss Frank Lampard.

On the red side of the city, Ralf Rangnick watched Manchester United lose vital ground in the top-four race when failing to find a way past relegation-threatened Watford at Old Trafford.

There were plenty of impressive performances across the division, however. We pick out our five Premier League stars of the weekend.

A 4-0 loss at home to Tottenham saw Leeds call time on Marcelo Bielsa’s three-and-a-half-year stint as boss yesterday.

His replacement is expected to be Jesse Marsch, with the 48-year-old American set to take up the Elland Road hotseat — we put him in the spotlight.
