Premier League powerhouses Arsenal will be offered the chance to sign PSV star Xavi Simons this summer, according to The Mirror.
Simons, 20, has been in scintillating form for the Eredivisie side this season, netting 16 goals and providing nine assists in the league.
His exploits in the Netherlands and the Europa League have seen the midfielder’s stock rise at a number of top clubs and they may turn their attention to the up-and-coming star during the transfer window.
Simons joined the Boeren on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and the French champions reportedly have a £10million buy-back clause should they wish to use it.
But Mikel Arteta may choose to turn to the three-cap Dutch international as he looks to bulk up his squad with young and eager talent.
The Amsterdam native fits the profile that the Gunners’ boss is looking for as the Gunners prepare to return to the Champions League for the first time in seven years.
Arsenal were willing to splash the cash on Mykhailo Mudryk and Moises Caicedo in January but may choose to direct some of their budget towards the versatile midfielder instead.
Simons has helped PSV win the Johan Cruyff Shield and KNVB Cup this term, as well as making his international debut at the World Cup in Qatar.
